The Problem
Lack of cost effective, quality health services for LGBTQ+ people combined with stigma and lack of education leads to a rise in STD/STI cases.
The Solution
A subscription service providing regular at-home STD testing as well as content on safe sex, with a linked app that allows tracking of symptoms and test results.

Creating a Speculative Product
I completed a combination of desk and user research which led me to discoveries of how underserved the LGBTQ+ community are when it comes to sexual healthcare. On the surface, Bare is simply an STI testing surface, but at the core it's really about creating an inclusive and empowering product.

Defining the App Flow
To establish the user interface design, I researched direct and indirect competitors to create a design that combined elements from both healthcare and also wellness products, for a more holistic design.

Combining Product and Service
The concept of Bare is that the user would download the app, choose their subscription, and receive their testing kit. Once they send the kit away, all the information and results can be tracked within the app. This flow encourages users to return to the app rather than it being a one-time use product.

Branding and Packaging
STI kits are typically very clincal and minimal in design, so I wanted to create a product that was fun and eliminated the shame from testing for STI's.
